MNR arches
C10CoryM - 31/5/09 at 04:48 PM

Hi guys,

I need some arches for my (non-MNR) car and I like the ones available from MNR.
Wondering a couple things:
How wide are the rear arches?
Are the inside edges flat or do they curve around the rear panel (laying the inside edge on the ground, is there a gap?)
What are the chances of a 200mm front cycle wing fitting a 205mm tire?
Thanks,
Cory

IIRC I'm pretty sure MNR only sell their bodywork to MNR car owners.

No doubt someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct

12" wide and yes they are flat on the inside edge.

I fell lucky and got a set off a fellow builder, I think if you were after a full body work set then I wouldn't have thought they would sell them without an mnr chassis but I would have thought they wouldn'nt mind a couple of rear arches, all in my opinion. Drop Marc or Chris a u2u or email, the worse they can say is no!

Cheers

Rich

what about the DAX arches they are 14" wide,

what are the chances of a 200mm wing fitting on top of a 205mm tyre, - come on man use your brains!

You know you can use anybody else's and widen them as per instructions on here somewhere.

I actually did that with my first scuttle, and it turned out well (although I didn't like the look of the thing in the first place so I ditched it for an ally one).

OR Jack at Kinetic in Oregon can get you wide ones that need a little modding.

I saw on their site it specifically said the main body (cockpit?) was only available to MNR owners. No note on other parts so I figured they would sell the other bits.

Thanks for the info. 12" wide and flat is what I need so we will see what happens. I may have too much power for the tire so maybe will need wider later but 12" fenders for now.

I do understand basic math, however depending on how they measure their arches, and how pessimistic they are, 205mm might fit. 5mm isnt exactly a lot.

Thanks for the input.

anyone got any close-ups of the new arches and the bracketry.

don't seem to marry up to me

I've got the new arches and brackets (not fitted) but the brackets have one of the lugs on the wrong side so it won't bolt up to the hub?

They came with the car and the previous owner said they where from MNR

Any ideas?
