Fuel Hose, Where???
the_big_1 - 9/9/19 at 07:04 AM

Hi Guys,

After loads of calls, emails, promises etc, it seems that no one in the UK stocks any fuel hose that is better than R9.
Where can I get it from as I am now stuck. Dont want leaking, perished hose every year lol

You want the following makes Codan, Gates or Goodyear, all supposed to be the best, I've been using the 1st 2 with no problems so far

I just bought some gates barricade off ebay. Bloody expensive and poorly described (had to cross reference the part number to the Gates website to check it was the right stuff), but quickly delivered and it is the real deal.

This was the one:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GATES-BARRICAD E-INJECTION-HOSE-4219-06034-27347-5-YEAR-WARRANTY/142882566468

That gets you 15ft of top quality R14 hose, which works out just under £10/m.
Hopefully better than the previous crap - both r6 and r9 were lasting less than a year before cracking and smelling strongly of fuel...

Yeah very. A lot more hose than I need, only need 2m max and thats 4.6m lol

There seems to be a lot of fake R9 hose out there. bGetting genuine stuff is tricky, so best to avoid ebay unless you are certain it is a genuine seller
AFS have a terrible reputation for R9 stuff, very short life.

Merlin keep Cohline 2240

I thing CBS, RD etc all sell proper stuff.

A mate of mine stocks Cohline which exceeds R9

I would agree the Afs R9 is rubbish.

Car Builder Solutions stock Cohline 2240 in popular sizes, it comes receipted as ethanol compliant.

Either every inch of J30 R9 I've had is fake, or its just crap, avoid it like the plague.

What about this?

This

https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/ethanol-proof-fuel-hose-8mm-516

https://www.carbuilder.com/uk/ethanol-proof-fuel-hose-10mm-38

It has blue writing, you can see cohline written on it on one of the pics.

No don’t use R10, it is not abrasion resistant, so not suitable for engine bay / under car use.

the_big_1 - 9/9/19 at 11:56 AM

Perfect, so I will go for 3M of the CBS ethanol proof pipe.
