Indicator Problem
Black Cat - 10/3/17 at 09:44 PM

Hi gents,

Have a problem with my indicator lights on my Tiger Avon. I have a Tiger supplied loom and I had a loose wire on the side indicator, which incidentally is LED as are the rear one but the front ones are normal bulbs. When playing around with the cables on the side indicator I must have touched the cable ends together and now the indicators won’t work. I’ve checked all the fuses and they are OK I’ve checked for loose connection and they all seem OK, and the relay hasn’t got a fuse in it so I’m assuming this is also OK.

It is only all the indicators which aren’t working.

I would appreciate any suggestions on what could be the problem.

Any chance you reversed the wiring when you were playing?

David makes a very valid suggestion.
I had the same problem last week and learned that as LEDs are a type of diode they will only allow current to flow in one direction.
As soon as I flipped the connections, everything worked just fine.
Hope that helps.
Regards,
Tony

I'll give it a go, but I did disconnect the LED indicator and I thought all the others should work. Think I will also test the relay.

Led are light emitting diodes........current only flows oe way. However the idicator flasher relays used for led indicators are very fragile and will blow if wired incorrectly .

Now checked the relays and they are all working. Also seem to have continuity from the indicator stalk to the lights but still no indicators working.

Any ideas of what could be the problem would be very much appreciated.
