Starter Motor Solenoid
shortcircuit - 28/6/20 at 05:58 PM

I am slowly getting my Leugo near completion and have a slight problem with the starter motor. The engine is a 1977 Ford 1300 xFlow with a pre-engage starter. It gives the occasional clunk but does not turn and with persistence will. Not a big problem but better eliminated. I am attempting to source a solenoid but with little success. Any ideas where I can locate?

Thanks Steve. That is a solenoid for an inertia type starter, not pre-engage.

If you can let me have the number from the side of the starter I will sort you out a solenoid.

Cheers
Mike

Is that the only number?

That is the Ford number. There will be a bosch or Lucas number stamped on the side.

Mike. Solenoid arrived this afternoon and fits and runs perfectly. Unfortunately engine out at the moment as I am awaiting rear core plug that I incorrectly ordered and then I can have a full test although I am 1000% confident.

Thanks again.

My pleasure Hamish.
