AndyW - 28/10/11 at 04:41 PM

Mother in law had a non fault accident last week and I may well be writtern off. Any one have any idea or access to a glass's guide so I can find out a value for them. Its a early 2009 Fiesta 1.25 zetec 5dr ( New shape) 29,000 miles excellent pre accident cond, air con, bluetooth, metallic paint etc etc..

I know what insurance company's are like and will probably offer £2.5k so just getting an idea?

Thanks

Andy

Go to you local main dealers, get written quotes on similar replacement cars they have in stock at the windscreen price. Get as many as you can, throw the lower 50% away and work out the average of the remaining (minimum 6) cars. This figure will be virtually impossible for the insurance company to argue unless you are with swift cover who will send you a low cheque and refuse to discuss it further. I know all this because I used to be the chap making the offers!

Check similar cars being advertised privately in Auto Trader and local rags............................
