New project...
franky - 9/11/11 at 10:31 PM

Been looking for a while for a useable project while I make my mind up about my next build.

Ended up with this

Its got a naughty L28 janspeed turbo engine fitted My first play with turbo's so lots to learn.

Initial plans are to sort out some niggles, fit 4 matched tyres(2x 225/50/15 and 2x 205/50/15 any suggestions). Then work out how to get it running as good as it possibly will. Looks like my laptop wont plug into it though....

circa 1000kg too so its not porky.

I was going to say period Samuri conversion but with the turbo it's already a Ninja.

balidey - 10/11/11 at 06:44 AM

Very nice.
But look after the gearbox because if it explodes it'll be raining datsun cogs.
Sorry

locoR1 - 10/11/11 at 07:02 AM

That is well

Ivan - 10/11/11 at 07:07 AM

rodgling - 10/11/11 at 03:20 PM

You bought it then? Looks ace. Not 100% sure about the wheels though? Could it be lowered a touch?

Yep, thought I told you?

they're 15" compomotive split rims, retro cool!? I need 4 new tyres on it. Not sure about lowering as its already quite low but i'l see

rodgling - 10/11/11 at 08:21 PM

Ah, didn't know you'd actually made the final decision and handed over the cash. Nice one, how does it drive?

Just a deposit paid, i'm not picking it up till next week sometime after the move. It needs is suspension tweaking and springs changing.

jimmyd - 10/11/11 at 08:42 PM

Sooooo envious!!!!!

Nickp - 11/11/11 at 12:40 PM

Very cool fella
How does it drive with the turbo sucking through that big old SU? Good potential for adding FI (megasquirt) and an intercooler, just so you can plug the laptop in

Fred W B - 11/11/11 at 01:15 PM

The retro rims work for me, but wide minilites have to be a consideration.......?

Cheers

Fred W B

tegwin - 11/11/11 at 04:01 PM

Minilites are such a cliche though.... they look cool, but wwaaay over done

Pezza - 11/11/11 at 05:40 PM

Always loved the 240z was looking for one before I picked up my Manta A.

Antnicuk - 11/11/11 at 08:56 PM

That looks fantastic. I didnt know Janspeed did a draw through system with an SU. I though Elford Turbo were the only ones on the first generation RX7.

Depending on what you want to do with it, an option for easy power and reliability would be an early skyline RB25 egine and box. Will probably go in the like it was made for it. Very basic FI, can be had cheaply, great power and pretty tough.

omega 24 v6 - 11/11/11 at 09:24 PM

Nice motor very clean looking as well. Surely I'm not the only one to have a chidish chuckle at the reg plate though??
