Could convert it for a cool air intake, and gain another 50hp

Bonnet release cable broke on SWMBOs VW Touran 1.9 TDI. Annoying, but you can either remove the front grill or go up from below to release the bonnet catch. Cutting a hole in the bonnet seems excessive to me.

Pretty normal if you own a Porsche

gremlin1234 - 6/8/18 at 10:01 PM

had to do that job on an Elise, but the hole was behind the number plate

I just see opportunity - cheeky offer for less than £290, £25 bonnet and maybe a bit of profit to be had.

Unfortunately it’s in a location which means any upside would be swallowed by transport costs

well it's local for me but I ain't touching it, 200k miles no MOT VW parts prices are steep and it's most likely to be poorly maintained at that age and needing loads of work, probably will be scrapped

You're not wrong, it looks like a rusty old scrapper to me!

Might be worth a punt if you had that make/model and needed some bits of trim and such, but otherwise you'd be pouring good money down a hole.
