action cam recomendation
theconrodkid - 23/9/18 at 08:15 AM

i have been looking for an action cam of late, after some research i got this one

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07C8C73R3/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and it actually works pretty well, you can use it as a dash cam without having a charger pluged in, the case is waterproof if you are that way inclined and there are loads of mountings, i even put it on my dog,s back and filmed him on the beach, weather was dark and wet but it worked pretty well.
no conection with the co ,just a recomendation for anyone wanting to struggle through the minefield of dash / action cams without spending gopro money.

couple of my first efforts on you tube.

Looks very similar to the one I bought a while back. Got mine from Ali Express.

I mainly bought it for taking in the sea to film the kids snorkeling and boating on holiday. It works a treat and so far hasn't let any water in.

I also have an early gopro with was absolute junk by comparison. Only ever fit for the bin really.

I guess it depends what you want to record. The image quality on the cheapies is perfect for general recording and stuff, but GoPro cameras really are much better in terms of IQ. Checking out the full res version of my initial test footage, in failing light, pointing at the sun:

you'll see how it handles sharpness, contrast and colour saturation better than cheapies. But if that doesn't appeal, it's a very expensive option.

I'm sure you are right. My Gopro was one of the early jobs and I don't think they have got around to quality at that point.
