steve m - 24/12/09 at 12:49 PM

and my wife when we went to brighton in my 7

she has been in my car twice, one to brighton and once back !!

I went to pick her up from work once, she gave me the shopping, and walked home

not bad in ten years

dave r - 24/12/09 at 01:45 PM

took my mum out after i had finished mine.... she really disapointed me, and didnt behave like that!

Ivan - 24/12/09 at 02:12 PM

Mine rolls her eyes and mutters "Boys!!!!"

Got the Cobra well sideways once coming out of an intersection - she didn't say a thing - later when I asked her why she didn't comment she just said "I would of if you hadn't caught it so smoothly"

Got to love her and I do still after 39 years together from first dating her - but then she knew she had married a petrolhead right from the start and at 16 was navigating for me in rallies and helping me to modify my car, so she was well trained but still won't go on the track with me.

What a thing to do to a poor mum, a woman that endured many hours of pain and suffering to bring him in to the world, mind you she was quite attractive, but then I am quite old.

skodaman - 24/12/09 at 10:16 PM

If I drove like that with my mum in the car she'd never get in a car with me again. Come to think of it she won't get in a car with me driving now.

RK - 24/12/09 at 10:42 PM

A real goer she is.

Chippy - 24/12/09 at 11:50 PM

If that had been my Mrs. she would have said, "Doesn't it go any faster!"
Cheers Ray

Steve Hignett - 25/12/09 at 12:06 AM

When I took my DAD out for the first proper mental spin he sounded like that, it wasn't worth my ball-sack to take my mum out and drive the same......

Fozzie - 25/12/09 at 01:26 AM

Kids all grown up so waitng for the rest of the house to wake up. Good video that, reminded me of when my Mum (unfortunately no longer with us) asked to have a go in my Lotus Europa Special back in the early 1970s. As she shouted at my Dad when he went over 55mph I took it very sedately, after a couple of miles she said will this go over 100mph - I always wanted to go faster than that. Of course I obliged and she even wanted to look at the speedo to make sure I wasn't fibbing. The next time my dad went over 55 she still shouted and when he protested she said "if you want to drive me faster than that buy a proper sports car this Cortina is not safe to go fast"?

My wife shouts at me over 80ish - speed limits and all that, but when I bought a "proper" Westfield she shouted even louder at anything over 40. You can't win.

Compliments of the season to all

Keith

Ivan - 25/12/09 at 10:18 AM

My mother is another story, and nothing to do with cars frightened her. Got her first car, a banger at 14, way back in 1934, reconditioned it and started driving it at 15, always did the driving on family trips, normally with foot flat on the floor cruising at between 80 and 100mph depending on the car's abilities - didn't matter if it was tar or gravel roads. Never had an accident in her 70 years of driving except for one car hitting her from behind at a robot and one Kudu jumping on her straight 8 Buick's bonnet (broke both of the Kudu's legs and my father had to kill it with a pen knife - made good biltong tho).

Everybody said she was the best driver they had ever ridden with.

RK - 25/12/09 at 05:04 PM

Sorry Mum.

JoelP - 25/12/09 at 10:19 PM
