You don't build a car cos it works out cheaper

Surrey Dave - 16/11/15 at 09:30 PM

I think he built at least 3 , one of the pioneers of Locost!!

BUILT being the operative word not from a kit of parts...........................

Bollocks , I like my BEC

LBMEFM - 16/11/15 at 10:46 PM

I regret selling my Mk1/2 Cortinas, Escorts, Austin Healey Mk1 Sprite, MGB's, but it is all something we did year's back when you could buy them for a few hundred pound's. If only ..............

mark chandler - 17/11/15 at 07:44 AM

Only selling my coiled v8 series 1 Land Rover. But I know where it is now so one day may be able to get it back.

I did think about selling my BEC last year as it would have been more cost effective than building into a fury body, I expect when I am done with it finally it will just collect dust.

Bluemoon - 17/11/15 at 07:45 AM

I think it depends on your character...

theconrodkid - 17/11/15 at 08:02 AM

You don't know Conrod!!!

I think he built at least 3 , one of the pioneers of Locost!!

True Dave,i built and ran 3 ,the first being a champion book chassis, helped build 3 more, had a hand in a twice championship winning cateringvan plus plenty of MG b,s and midgets that we raced.

Norfolkluegojnr - 17/11/15 at 08:35 AM

Yes, wish I still had my first 350lc, the Kawasaki Z1000 and the mk2 escort I had..

Keep wondering if I should have kept the Striker I had as well.

kj - 17/11/15 at 01:04 PM

Very much regret selling my early 60's pre - CBS Fender Stratocaster in Olympic White.

Oh and my 1960's Burns Vista Sonic guitar

My Locost ?? , no ................I used it so little over the years, and London Surrey borders not the best place to drive one!!!

Best fun I had in it was trackday at Brands!!, even then it pissistently rained all day.

Macbeast - 18/11/15 at 09:54 AM

Regret selling my 1937 SS Jaguar saloon - bought for £40 in 1961
and my MG Y-type saloon.

But circumstances changed

DRM Black7 - 18/11/15 at 10:44 AM

Very nearly sold my Seven, so glad I didn't, I've come and gone through motorbikes, verious tin tops etc. Only vehicle I regrate selling was my Suziki Rgv250 was like new and would be worth a fortune now
Don't think I'll ever sell the DRM it's a one off and fast as F it's going to have a full rebuild in 2021 when she's 20, new modern Bike engine, Indepent rear end instead of the Dedion.

pekwah1 - 18/11/15 at 12:55 PM

Every single day....
At least the Striker went to a locostbuilder user (ravingfool) and has been doing a sterling job of correcting all my mess!

If i had any money and buying it back was an option, i'd do it right bloody now!

kj - 18/11/15 at 01:08 PM

Was going to sell mine but after a blast out at the week end, nah. I know i wouldnever get the performance or fun out of anything else for that price.

DIY Si - 20/11/15 at 09:10 AM

I had to sell my mine to pay for my divorce. I miss that car far, far more than the ex-wife!!

redeye - 20/11/15 at 02:49 PM

Every day!

Especially in the summer when I see people out enjoying theirs. I will build another........one day!

Ugg10 - 20/11/15 at 02:56 PM

Looking back I regret selling my Fury but at the time I was not using it (now have more time and £ so could !), so was happy to see it is being used for what it was meant for (spirited road and many track days) by a locostbuilders member.
