Any experience of changing the bulbs in an Altea?
My wife's dip and main have gone on one side and it looks impossible to remove the rear cover from the inside, so I look to draw forward the
headlamp which I only have access to one torx screw. I am now looking to remove the bumper to access the screws. Am I missing something? or is this
the only way to get at the bulb?

My 2006 you can replace all bulbs without removing the headlamp, in modern terms they are very simple, my wife does them herself on occasion !!!
There are a big inspection hatches over the bulbs, one has a rubber cover the other is hard plastic with a spring clip top and bottom.

Thanks for the replies. the model is a 2010 and I had seen the owners manual with that diagram. the 2010 does not look like that. There are at least
3 torx screws holding the back plate on two of which are obstructed which leads me to think that the lamp needs to come out.

Not done an Altea, but have done Seat Alhambra and Leon, VW Touran and Passats (ranging from 2000 to 2007). At no point has it been necessary to
remove the headlamp or bumper! As "daviep" says there's a rubber or plastic cover at the rear of the hadlamp unit, which comes off to
expose a metal clip that holds the bulb holder in place. Usually a 10 minute job outside the motor factors or the house.
I've not had to replace LED bulbs and they may well be different, but I really can't imagine even those are headlamp unit out or bumper
off!

is it fitted with normal halogen bulbs, or the gas-discharge ones?
also does it have the dynamic lights?

I always try and use a local motor factor for parts, but failing that Halfords should have them as well.
Pretty sure Halfords offer a fitting service for something like £5 extra as well.
if its anything like the ones on my 2010 fabia, they are a b@stard to do! Fuel filter right behind the light unit! Took it to a local Skoda specialist and they didnt really want to do it either they are so bad!!
I noticed that (from the link I gave earlier)
items 14 and 15 are described as
"repair kit for headlamp housing"
suggesting it is 'normal' for these to break!
It seems to be standard practice on a LOT of modern vehicles, it's down to the design of how to get a lot into a small(er) space. The person on the computer says, "Yes I can fit that in there." with no real thought of repair, because, they have never wielded a spanner in their life. So, we end up with the ridiculous scenario where on a lot of vehicles, it's a case of, bumper off and headlamp out, to change a bulb. Go figure.
