My builders are hand mixing about 2 cubic metres of concrete to lay next to my new extension. I'd previously suggested they get a lorry to deliver ready mixed stuff to save them hand mixing so much stuff. They're now complaining that it is taking longer than they thought. Out of interest, what would 2m2 of concrete cost me, roughly. I'm betting it is less than a day's labour for the 2 of them (plus the cost of materials).
A mixer truck load is around 7cu m so if you only want 2cu m you will have to pay a part load delivery.
I last bought concrete in thwe UK about 7years ago at around £80 per cu m.
There are companies that specialise in small quantities but as always there will be a premium.
right so 2 cubic metres is £200ish, perhaps plus a bit for part load, lets say £250. Or a day of shovelling into a cement mixer. I'd have bought it and saved the time.
Spotmix brought 2 cubic metres to my house, wheel barrowed it around the back of the property, into the footings for £120.

Next time you get the builders in colin do these calcs before hand lol! I bet this is the 3rd time you've been caught out now!

that includes delivery.
should be about right. bought some last summer at that.
i found a local who did it for £100 cash in hand cos he had spare on his van.
maybe worth asking about. :O)

two weeks ago I paid £87/cube plus £20 delivery. That was for a truck that mixes on site, on demand, so you pay for whatever you use.
Edited to add - it took 8 minutes to reverse the truck up, fill up the foundations with 3.5 cubes, and ask me for my debit card! I'm glad I
didn't hand mix it!

Spotmix or similar is the only way to fly.
All you need is a mate to help you screed it off whilst the two passengers on the spotmix lorry barrow it into your shutter.
Once it's in, the driver and you come to a complicated arrengement whereby they get a bit of cash in hand and you get a bit off what you thought
you would be paying.
As said previously, it takes no time at all. My garage floor was mixed and in within 20 minutes.
