A hilti is nothing like either of those, it uses explosive charges and can fire nails straight into steel effectively welding them in.

Or as someone I know tells the tale, fire the nail through the coat hook, through the plasterboard wall, over a secretaries head and embed itself in the far wall of her office (years before people cared about such things, fortunately for him).
