Yeah sadly here's the reality of the North Sea oil, yet other platform lifted off in the space of a few months

I was doing the scheduling for the crane maintenance on Miller only a year ago...

That's the accommodation and helideck being lifted off, the rest comes off next year to go to Norway to be broken up

Also did the scheduling for the S7000 crane barge when I worked for Saipem, the director had a model of it in this office in a glass case. It's quite big...

Wow what a crane!

I served my apprenticeship on the Miller when it was in the Wallsend yard. Never been on it offshore though, but many others.
Now I feel old!!

Thats one hell of a crane!

imagine having all those rusty nuts n bolts to undo without dropping your 10mm spanner in the drink

It never ceases to amaze me when people complain at the cost of petrol yet happily pay twice as much for bottled water.

Should have left it there as a modern day Alcatraz......

Errr lifting an engine out won't be quite the same after seeing the scale of that
