What's in my bottle?
Benzine - 16/1/20 at 10:42 AM

I've recently finished doing a barn conversion to live in. When taking up one of the old floors we found loads of old shoes and animal bones (see here for more info) . At the corners of the room were some bottles. One of which was unearthed by a digger. Amazingly it didn't break and still has the cork in. What could it be? Smells a bit creosotey and separates into a few layers.

Witch bottles?
Would fit with the shoes.

Thanks for that, hadn't heard of those but yes it does fit in well!

I won't be drinking it though!

"Using proton nuclear magnetic resonance and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, they determined the contents:

urine. The bodily fluid was spiked with a metabolite of nicotine, indicating a smoker, and sulfur, the hellish brimstone of the Book of Revelation

Massey inventoried the contents: 12 iron nails (one of which was driven through a leather heart), 8 brass pins, clumps of hair, 10 manicured fingernail clippings, and a little clot of what looked like bellybutton lint
."

I say drink it but film it and put on youtube...

Drink it IF you’ve got the bottle!
