Hi, can anyone help me with a problem?
My girlfriends N reg renault clio is shaking heavily whilst idling and i cant think why, does anyone know what the prblem could be?
Its been in several times to the garage over the past few months with an oil leak and clutch problem, but they still havent fixed the leak, could this
be a cause?
Also, when they changed the clutch they initially didnt tighten the gearbox on properly,i'm worried its still not secure, could this be another
problem?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks, Theo
Difficult to diagnose without seeing car but would start by check that engine is not misfiring or engine mounts not broken
First thing I would do is find another garage to work on your car before the ones you are using now kill you.
Is it running ok when you drive?
What engine is in it?
Steve.
thanks, its fine when running, although makes a clunking noise when changing gear. its a 1.2 petrol
cheers, Theo
might be pi$$ing in the wind but on the commercial renault stuff i work on (vans) they've all got a engine stabilizer going from the center rear
lower of the block to the subframe. from what you've said it's doing thats classic of it either being worn or left lose.
worth a look.
A lad at work allegedly managed to snap 1 of the bolts on his clio's engine/gearbox mounts....
Doing god knows what I don't know!
But as suggested by other worth looking for it could be a common fault on them.
Mini's had same problem with stabiliser bar bushes
