Afternoon all,

Does anyone know where i can get one of these from ?
Its the Gear Lever adapter that i am after, which fits on to the splined gearbox output shaft on the ZX-12/ZX-9.

Apparently a guy on here (pathfinder) used to manufacture these but has long since dropped of this forum. Anyone know where i can get one from ?

I got one from the bike shop scrap bin from a GPZ500. A lot of bikes use the same spline.

sorry to ask the obvious, but why cant you use the bike one and modify that?

take the splined/clamp portion, then weld the longer piece that you require to that?

failing that try having a search round the breakers, source the splined shaft, then make your own lever, drill hole, lube and hammer the splined portion through, drill, tap and then split with hacksaw to form the clamp?

As above, why not just modify the original? Honda very kindly use a threaded splined thingy on the ST1100 so it was dead easy to do (especially cos I got my brother to do it ).

MK sold me mine for a ZX12, just came with their standard BEC shifter kit.

Yes, i could modify my original but i liked the look of the shiny machined item

most of the kawasaki arm are the same, i've used a zxr400 arm on my zx10r motor. Try Blacks bike shop they break loads of bikes on ebay.

Careful I had a cheap gear lever similar to these thrown in with a Honda Chaly I had a while back. It was made of cheese and bent to the point of being unusable within about 3 gear changes.

Sorry im really hungry and am waiting for SWMBO to get home before I start the cooking!!

Do yourself a favour and get a steel one so that when your ali (chocolate) one breaks you can replace it with one that works!

Andy off of AB Performance does them for a good price...
