hi all

im currently supercharging my pinto which is running on fireblade carbs.
got it to the point of running and it seems ok, the revs wander a bit but im not too concerned about that for the minute.

something that has got me a little worried is when its running an awful lot of mist/vapour gets blown out of the breather between carbs 2 and 3


before it was supercharged it used to do this, but not half as bad. ive read it is perfectly normal, but now its supercharged the amount that comes out concerns me a little as i imagine its pretty flamable (havent been brave enough to test that theory though)


i must be loosing a fair amount of boost too through there... certainly feels like it anyway.


whats everyone else done with their forced induction fireblade set-ups? is it ok to blank it off?

cant see what type of charger it is but if you dont have any bypass valve for the blower it will be pumping against the closed throttles so thats most likely whats happening

Mine is on TBI's but I have read that you have to pressurise the breather.

im using a blow off valve, so when the butterflys in the carbs are shut, all boost is released.

it's an m45 charger




as you can see ive pressuised above the diaphragm using them airline fittings but ive left the middle breather uncovered as there hasnt been any mention of it previously.

anyone know what to do with it?

should i blank it off or pressuise it too?

You need to give boost to the two breather pipes.

The boost is blowing your fuel out of the Carb overflow.

so just before i start making alterations, let me make sure i have this right

i've been out and taken some pics of my set-up






the red circles indicates the two breather type things which i've connected to the pilot tube, and are therefore pressurised.
the green circle is left open and is where the vapour and boost is escaping from


so i need to pressurise the one in the green circle?

managed to find an answer to my question after an hour or so on google

turns out it needs to be blanked off according to the fireblade turbo boys!

If its not a lot of raptor I would just make a breather, google what Carbs they are, find out what the breather actually was on the bike.
If its a carb over flow it will need boost pressure. Other than that filter it too the atmosphere with a filter to keep mr MOT happy.
