Ford Zetec Blacktop 2.0 ID ???

Got myself a brand new zetec engine. Does anyone know what the unique enginenumber/serial/ID number is ?
The only thing that i found was this sticker on the cam cover.
The people from GBS/Kitspares told me that the sticker with the barcode contains the unique ID, but they can't tell me wich one it is.
Because it is a brand new engine, it does not have a engine number on the side (above crank sensor) like you have it when its removed from a focus or
mondeo.
Hope someone can help me out

Service part engines like yours don't come with an engine number. Dealers stamp the number from the old engine when they swap them over.
Get the Burton catalogue, have a look at the correct format and make your own up.
That sticker is purely the engine factory's ID and traceability reference.

Crate Blacktops do not come with an engine number. The VIN on a Ford includes the engine number so a change would mean the VIN was meaningless.
What Ford intend you to do is to stamp the engine number off the old engine onto the new one, that way the VIN is still correct.
What I did is nothing. Engine is numberless and no worse for it.
Further proof that GBS don't have a clue what they sell or what they are talking about.

I will take a look at the burton website. But what if i create my own number, and that engine number still exists ?

Just add an extra digit on the end?
Or leave it blank, when I registered my striker with a fiat twin can there was no engine number on it and the v5 just had 2l with nothing in the
number box. Long time mind you.
Number format can be anything you want has long as you want it on the v5.

My (non-crate) engine has it stamped on the edge of the flange above the crank position sensor, facing out to the side of the car. I've heard
crate engines don't have them.
