BEC Help!!!!!

Can any one help or point me in the right direction.

I have an Aprilia RSV engine in my MK Indy. Car will run well on tick over but driving under load it there is no power. It's not running in safe mode.
It feels electrical rather than fuel starvation. I have checked all the earths and fuel pump. Just about to change plugs.
Could it be coils or voltage rectifiers?

Any idea?

Thanks

Misfiring under load or just low power?

If no misfire I would say it's lack of fuel, usaully electrical faults will result in a misfire, not just general low power.

Presuming its injection as you say its not in safe mode?

I would be checking fuel system, filter is ok, and voltage to pump?

I had a similar thing on my zx14 I removed the fuel filter, and just ran straight pipe and bingo it was on the money, then got a high flow fuel filter for it as it didn't have the std bike pump, are you running a in line filter?

Magnetti Magicry Italiana...

Ignition coils will cause the issue, however unlikely, do check them over (ideally replace/swap to ascertain soundness). Any cracks in the casing are a dead giveaway that the coils have had it. I had two sets (Bosch units) fail on a BMW R80, it took a very long time to track it all down.

Check the TPS! Check it again, have a beer and check once more.

Check the fuel pump, known issue with these things. Fit a good external pump instead of the in-tank thing (if you're retained that).

If all else fails, replace the stonking sound of the V-twin with the powerful purr of a Pinto.
