This is the final Mk 3 version of my home made/machined gear knob, 316 grade stainless with a compression fit brass insert, finished with 400 grit to grain and 4 coats of clear coat. weighty but feels good and solid. Not sure on IVA though, It'll go on after.

looks good! if you had a 2.5mm rad on the top edge i think you will be fine for iva

I did have a 2.5mm radius on the first test piece but it didn't look right for what I was looking for.

Easy solution - just use a cheap and nasty one for IVA and then put your nice shiny new one on afterwards.

Years ago I used a polished piston from a moped in a model T rod I built which looked cool.

Cant you use a Rubber foot tor furniture as temporary cover?

at 14 1/2 stone a 350g gearknobs not going to make any difference.
