Can someone please recommend me a radiator for my Locost, running a 2ltr Zetec silvertop. The one I have is a little aged and showing signs of leakage.

hi,
Im using 1 from a golf with a2l zetec no probs so far, just got a new one for my sons Dutton rebuild with a zetec in it, used the same size, bought on ebay, I used www.Glasgow radiator web site for conformation on size, the norm is a polo one, but the golf is slightly bigger, deeper too 34mm instead of 20mm.

I have an MK Indy with a Polo radiator , I have just bought a 70mm alloy radiator from Coolex Heat Transfer , they advertise on Ebay and have their own website........bought this because the fittings are exactly the same etc. The quality looks really good ! My car has a 2 litre zetec engine. Listed on ebay as polo derived for Westfield etc.

I used a nissens 651631 polo/golf radiator, it's 40mm wider than the westfield/polo rad and only just squeezes into the striker nosecone, i can't comment on it's suitabilty for a locost, but it is as effective as the previous escort group 4 ali rad i previously had.
I replaced the escort rad because the core vacuum brazing failed in multiple places, i dont know for certain whether it was caused by vibration or thermal cycling but it did last 8 years before becoming an issue.
To damp vibration with the replacement i tapped out the lug mount holes m6 on the rad ends, and threadlocked rubber bobbins mounts into the holes, hopefully it will help prevent premature failure, however a replacement is only 30 quid this time unlike the escort item.
