Where can get one of these...

Hi - while it's cold and wet outside I want to finish off a job I've been meaning to do and plumb in a bypass circuit to the water rail set up on my 2.0 Blacktop Zetec (I've already fitted an expansion tank and am just looking to finish off this well used cooling diagram).

Coolant Diagram
Coolant Diagram

On the GBS water rail, the thermostat housing has 2 threaded holes - the upper one has my temperature sender in it, the lower one is blanked off and it is this one I am going to use to plumb in the bypass circuit.

I'm looking for a threaded hose outlet that I can simply thread in and attached the 19mm ID bypass hose to (this is the red one at the top of the cooling diagram). I also need to fit another outlet to the bottom hose but can do this the same way as I have for the pipe going to the expansion/header tank.

Thanks for any pointers or suggestions. Rob

What thread is it?

Just type the thread type/size into eBay or Google with 'hose adapter' or the like after it and see what comes up

As above, "hose barb" is another option.

it's a 10mm thread (well, it's a tapered thread so almost 11mm at the thick end)...will give ebay a go and see what comes up...thanks for the thoughts

Look at this on eBay M10x1.5 METRIC to 9mm 10mm BLACK BARB PUSH HOSE TAIL Straight Fuel Pump Fitting

M10x1.5?

Thanks for this...I think that should fit the thread into the housing (if not, I guess I can whack some Plumbers tape around it and make it watertight! )

Another question: The barb is also 10mm whereas the pipe I was going to use in the diagram has a 19mm ID - would you use a smaller pipe in its place add some kind of reducer to the pipe or barb to make it fit better (or just tighten it onto the barb as tight as it can go with a jubilee clip)?

Sorry for the questions - feeling rather thick!

More likely npt if tapered.

On the thing I removed there are some numbers stamped but they don't make any sense to me....do they help confirm the thread etc?

Call these guys and explain what you want - I'm sure they'll have something off the shelf...

Thanks folks - that's sorted...

Now, any idea where I can get something like this from?

I photoshopped this but would like two 19mm ID outlets :-)

Car builders solutions perhaps?

I suspect wont be an off shelf item. Maybe get some one like this to join 2 of these, They say they can make any size.
