V8 engine re-furb
swanny - 13/11/17 at 09:49 AM

hello all,

refurb might not be the right word, but i wonder if people have recommendations for a place that really knows its rover v8 for a light re-furb on my injected rover v8.

its been largely off the road for the past few years and in the last year back on the road we've had a number of minor issues, idle stepper motor, water pump gone, overheating etc

i'm hoping for someone with lots of specialist knowledge to give it a good going over, sort any issues and give me a bit more confidence in it.

Thanks

Paul

I'm in the midlands

Might be overkill for what you want, but you could try contacting JE Developments?

thats exactly my thoughts sam_68. i know they are really good and i have spoken to them before. But i'm thinking that it might not need huge amounts of work.

but they would tick the confidence box for me as they really seem to know their stuff

I'd go to RPi Engineering

V8 developments, know a few who have used them very helpful and no problems. Conversely wouldn’t use RPI, least helpful bunch going when I was looking for some pistons, tried to over sell stuff I didn’t want or need. Know others who have had problems with them involving legal action.

The engines aren’t complicated, in fact surprisingly simple, why not give it a go yourself loads of guides out there and V8 forum very good. I’m currently building a 4.6 my background is nursing.

Thanks for all the responses. B33fy I’m very impressed and one day with a bit more time I’d definitely have a go.

I spoke to John Eales this afternoon and though they wouldn’t do it as it’s in the car they did give me the number of someone local to them who they work with quite a bit.

Hopefully in a few weeks I’ll take it over. Thanks again

Paul
