Type 9 Gear Lever
Greenie - 18/5/18 at 07:29 PM

I am sure this has been asked before.

I need a gear stick for a type 9 that needs to reach under the dash section, can't fit an extension to the rear of tgebox due the rubber donut on the prop. Has anyone any ideas or has anyone got some images 3rd.

I have a custom made extension that bolts under the top tunnel rails and attaches to a shorthand gear leaver. It should clear a donut and still has the reverse gate

Sounds ideal, have you any pics?

Not at the moment I made it quite a while ago and not seen it for a while since we went to the duratec if your interested I will dig it out and send pictures you will have to have some machining done to your existing gear leaver

Definitely interested and would really appreciate it.

Just got it out but don't know how to attach a photo to a post

I have just put a photo of it in my photo archive if you want a look

I think tiger had a budget / bodge solution I their Avon book. Prod me tonight and I'll see if i can find it.

Didn't have an extension on mine, but bent the standard Sierra gear leaver a little more rearward so it cleared the bottom edge of the dash.

I really like that dash layout

Also like the Ali section to stop scuffing the chassis not seen that done before.

A case of adding it afterwards when I realised getting in/out was going to scuff that chassis rail. It worked well and was done from left over alloy trim strips I'd used on elsewhere on the car.
