the "£250" locost...

when i first heard it i thought wow !! a car like that for £250 !!

then, five minutes later and a bit of google i saw kits start around £6000 and i though ****, i better start saving

the last moneth or so i have been trawling around the internet looking for cheap cars, unique cars, fun projects etc etc and came across this on the american locost forum...

http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=7162

the saudi arabia team of 3 built there car for 850 riyals, which is £150 !! which i thik is quite a bargain...

ok, things out there are cheaper, but still, its £100 less than the £250....

p.s. though reading the initial post again, im not sure if he says 850 riyals a week, month, year or total budget... non-the less its still a great project....

Interesting viewing, reminds me of the types of thread we used to get on here, before the £600+ for a digi dash brigade moved in

Admittedly along with SVA,IVA,IVF & IRA

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

What have Irish terrorist organisations got to do with kitcars?

Car for £150.00 eh, then how much did the tools cost, they also don't look short of a riyal or two so maybe not quite as locost as it first appears.

I dont think many people count tools into their build cost. I maybe wrong though!

Yep. No harm been a while!.

It is possible to build on the cheap, we could do a with a few more like that on here again. If you have the time, and tools and re-use as much of the dooner as you can... Thing is with the IVA costing nearly as much as the locost it seems you should spend more on the car.

You could set yourself a more realistic budget of 1K, that would be a good challenge... I think that would be possible if you had the time+patience and tools...

I like that.
- However, as said, its not going to pass IVA is it, and i think thats half of it.
- Equally, there appears to a fair bit of steel in the body work my thinks!

But no, not a bad call.

I believe the 250 pound car idea came about when drugs were fashionable.
