Citroen C3 reverse light help.

Both reverse lights have stopped working on my wife's C3. It suggests a switch or fuse or relay, except that no fuse or relay is listed in the handbook. Both bulbs are fine. Is there a fuse or relay for the reverse bulbs? Where is the reverse light switch mounted? Does anyone here know?

Top of the gearbox. Not easy to get at though 'cos of the battery box if I remember rightly.

It is the switch. What an arse to get to! You can see it down a crack between the engine and the battery box but can't move your fingers enough to release the catch on the plug. You can do this from underneath but without enough room to get a spanner on the switch to remove it. The electrical socket is too deep to get a socket set on the switch from above with a long extension so you have to remove the battery box, ECU, fuse box ....

Citroen approved dealers do have their uses then. "She"'s complaining about taking it in because she'll be without a car for a few hours. There's almost no pleasing some people.
