how the hell are you getting 47.8 mpg from a 530d?

well impressed.

i have the 525d 2005 which i struggle to get 40mpg on my 150 miles per day drive.

i drive at 70 mph (give or take 7 mph)

and i get 40 mpg.

well done.

nice car. they are lovely cars.

good price!

On a long run I had nearly 60mpg once!!! Cruise control is your friend

Revs really low.... at 110 mph its only doing 3000rpm (on abandoned airfield of course)

There is one about two miles from me near east kirkby but the gate is always closed. Some dude called Jimmy fireblade teaches wheelies to motorbike riders....

They also quarter mile bikes there sometimes

How do you get 40 out of a 525?

Mines a 56 plate and I can only muster 33

Manual !! Mine was an auto 04 plate mid-30's if you were lucky.

I think the latest Auto's are better though.

You what? My B10 averaged 25 and would do more than 31-32 on a run to the Smoke!

No wonder they acheived all those Efficient Dynamics claims - low base!

ETA: It'd do 160mph+ too.

All up weight?

(Just to clarify, I'm guessing that I would be getting 33 as well...)

Thats answered my problems take the 1.2 & 1.7 diesels out of the combo's, the 1.8 out of the Galaxy and swap them for 3 litre BMW units an instant improvement in consumption.
Cheers,
Bob
