Main beam switch query

Hi peeps
am in the process of replacing my switches on my S7.
My old main beam switch (on/off) has 3 terminals on the back with one wire goin to each. My new switch (on/off) has only 2 terminals, as I would expect. Havent found where each wire goes to as yet, Im guessing it has to be wired to extinguish the dip beam when it turns the main on? can I wire it with just the 2 terminals or do I need a 3 terminal on/off switch again?
Many Thanks

Chances are your original switch is a changeover. One wire is the feed the other 2 will be for main and dip. The new switch is simply on/off
