Can a handbrake just brake the axle for IVA?
Can a handbrake just brake the axle for IVA? It would stop both wheels via the LSD, but technically is only fully braking one wheel - what does IVA
reckon to this?

If I remember on my IVA they tested each rear wheel individually, so may well cause you a problem if it allows any rotation of the axles. Why not
give VOSA a ring, they are generally helpful if you can get through to the correct person.

Would the LSD give even braking effort on both wheels?, if so then I cant see why you it would comply with the above.

The handbrake on a landrover defender is only on the rear prop shaft, but don't know if landrover have got some kind of grandfather rights cos
they've been making it fire so long our something.but id imagine iva would be very similar to type approval.

Transmission brakes are nasty things really best avoided if at all possible.

My tin top 4x4 has a foot operated axle brake its a 55 plate so cant be hard to sort out.
