sierra diffs. few questions

have a few questions regarding the sierra diff.
is it possible to get a 7" lsd with push in shafts or are all lsd's bolt ons?
i was sure you could but have been told the opposite today. cheers!
i was reading on seventh heaven and it said some tripod shafts are lsd but were designed for drum brakes,
and some bolt ons are lsd and open. any info?
ideally i want to end up with a 3.38 or 3.14 7" lds with push in shafts.is this possible without going quaife?

Indeed LSDs only came with bolt ons. If you want to keep bolts ons the only way to get and slipper is to go for an an aftermarket (quaiffe etc)

im after keeping push in shafts. my car was advertised as lsd when i bought it but for some reason i never checked it.i drove it and it handled awesome but never chacked for lsd.
ill jack it up and spin a wheel. see what happens. then take the back off the diff and pray theres a quaife inside!

There is another way
Buy a 3.62 LSD
Buy a 3.38 push fit
Use centre LSD part from 3.6 with crown wheel and pinion from 3.38
Remove Lobro stubs and you have a 3.38 LSD push fit

I think the problem is that push fit shaft don't fit into the ford LSD, one of the push fit shafts has a longer splined area so that shaft doesn't go far enough in to get the bearing on the correct area, see pic shamelessly stolen from Wadders.

I converted to 3.14 diff, (best mod I have done to date), but to get an LSD had to go the Quaife route, which was a real pain as I had to change the complete back end as had disc's and wanted to keep them. The alternative would have been to have the 3.14 rebuilt with a ford LSD, in which case I could have retained the bolt on shafts, but getting hold of a Ford LSD at the time, without robbing a 3.62, was like finding hens teeth.
