Steering rack boots wanted - help - struggling to find right type

Hi, I need a pair of steering rack boots for a sierra non pas rack, the rack is 48mm diameter where the boot sits.

The problem I am having is the first line brand ones I bought are too small internally so they get pinched between the track rod knuckle and the rack and split. The originals were 48mm the whole way up internally before going small for the track rod.

The originals looked like these: FORD GRANANDA MK 3 &' SIERRA STEERING RACK BOOTS NEW

The ones that don't fit are these: Ford Sierra 2.0 1988 1989 Steering Rack Boot Kit FSG3040

I need the ones like the first link but I've contacted the seller and unfortunately they are the even smaller type for different sierras.

Where can I get some that look like the fist pic and fit?

Cheers

When I wanted a pair I went to my local Camberly Auto Factors, and they just had them in the correct size. Can't remember what they cost, (some years ago now), but don't think they were that expensive. HTH Ray

boots

Hi
I would have thought any decent motor factor should be able to help you out.
Try Danny at MK , they modify the sierra racks.
Good luck

QH do a universal kit with stepped diameters just select and cut to size

Been to all my local factors, no-one can get the right type, only the small dia ones.

I've got some vehicle specific QH ones on order to look at tomorrow but failing that I'm going for the QH univ ones as BT said.

Just to clarify i'ts the internal diameter of the convoluted part that seems to be the problem. Whereas the originals were a large bore all the way.
