Road Tax Brackets

I'm looking into getting an S2000 and I'm wondering if anyone has any definitive info on the road tax brackets

I know the 2001 S2000 falls under the £200 and somethng a year tax, however I'm not sure what year this runs until before i goes up to about £460

Anyone got any ideas?

After 1st March 2001 registration, tax is calculated by emissions. £220 per annum before then.

So it looks like anything up to March 2006 will be a max of £270

Good stuff!

If it's for a donor then the tax bracket will still be done from engine size using the old system as far as I understand the workings of the system.

Aha, you were after the year of the car rather than the year of the tax... Yes, looking on that page a pre March 06 car is a better option. From what I can see, high emissions cars manufactured before March 06 get lumped into the 'K' tax band, only cars after March 06 get the 'L' and above bands, and therefore the higher tax.

My tintop is mega emissions, but is only saved by the fact that it's old enough to 'only' be a K.
