Flat rental - Banbury, Oxford

Can anyone tell me example cost of flat rental at Banbury/Oxford ? What is average monthly costs of living in the UK ?
Any info/suggestion will be welcome.

I want to apply for the job there but I have to write my salary expectations... and I have no idea how much I want
I saw advertisment for similar position with salaries about 25-30k GBP, but can't tell how much is this compared to costs of living...

My wife rented a two bedroom flat in Newbury 5 years ago (about the same price as it is today), and it cost £650 per month (nice, modern flat, with parking). Oxford is expensive, as you can commute to London, so expect it to be a far bit more.

Check out Right Move to see what is available in each location, and for how much.

Didcot is about 880 per month for a small 2 bed house.. One thing's for sure it's not cheap; Oxford more so.

Oxford is expensive by any standards due to highly restrictive planning and increasing numbers of residence.
Banbury not so nearly so bad.

Here is a decent local letting agent where you can find prices from
http://www.finders.co.uk/

If you can afford it I am sure you would like it here.

An idea of living costs per month is:

council tax (paid per house for local services) £100-£200
gas £50-70
electricity£20-50
tv license £15
a phone £10-£50 depending on usage
internet and tv subscription £20-£80 depending on how many channels
rent is covered above

throw in some food and you're at £1000-£1300 a month.

Beware! Bourettes is binfectious.

I live in a rural area 10miles from Banbury. Whilst I can't give you any specific details I suggest if you are looking for 1-2 bedrooms to budget for about £650-750 to rent. Other costs as above.

The area surrounding Banbury (mainly south and east of it) are a very nice part of the country.
