Kit Car Parts Direct GRP Seats

Does anyone runs these seats?
http://www.kitpartsdirect.com/item.php/store/85/c1/330/c2/3851/sn/KAD-GBSP-B/w/KAD_GRP_Bucket_Seats_-_Pair_-_Black

If so, can you tell me the height of the harness holes from the seat base please?

I just took delivery of a pair of these about 4 days ago. The quality is not quite as good perhaps as the pictures make out (mainly the rear of them to be fair - they look ok from the front). One of the mounting holes in the base had a stripped thread which I've had to helicoil to fix.

I have the universal seat runners bolted to them now (which stands them approx 35mm off the floor). Just measured the vertical height from the floor to the centre of the harness cutouts and its approx 610mm. Its approx 580mm to the base of the harness cutout.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Tony

Oh yes - forgot to say, the seat pads are very comfy. Some of the pads have a bond/glue line running across them which you can feel with your fingers but aren't really that noticable visually and you can't feel them at all when you are sitting in the seat.

No problem at all Dave. If you want any pictures or further dimensions etc just drop me your email address and I'll sort it out for you. It's no problem as the seats are not going to be fixed in the car for a good while yet.

Cheers
Tony

I think based on the feedback and comments above I may pay a little bit more and get some different ones. I don't want to have to start repairing seats straight after buying them (I don't think that's something you should have to do to be honest!)

I've looked at the JK ones, going to make some calls this dinnertime I think. I need them by a fortnight Monday so need to find some in stock really.

I have the Kit parts seats, while the quality isn't stellar, it isn't that bad. I brushed Flowcoat on the backs and tidied them up.
To put it into perspective, you get two seats for less than the price of one JK.
If you want to pop over and check them out, you are more than welcome.

Well I had decided to buy a pair of the KAD seats but hey had none in stock so didn't want to take the risk of not getting hem in time.

I ordered a set from kitspares which cost another £27 but I'll get them Tuesday.

I had the KSD seats in my westfield, and found them absoutly brill...Very comfortable, and stood up to a fair amount of track abuse. I now have the carbon ones in my new build........Agree, the finish is not great on the rear, but for the price they are fantastic.

I got some GRP seats from Road Track Race (i.e. MEV) in Notts. Similar width base although wider at the shoulders - seem OK to me although I have only sat in them in short bursts whilst offering them up to the chassis. Bit pricier - about £220 for the pair IIRC but seem good and strong.
