Fuel Injector Rates

Evenin

Picked up a set of individual throttle bodies that came with 4 Weber IWP042 injectors. T'internet states these will flow 240-ish cc per min and are stable up to 5 bar (taking them up to 300-ish cc per min).

I'm fitting the TB's to a standard C20XE... going by the various reports out there, I should expect the red-top to make around 195 bhp with a set of TB's.

Can anyone advise if these injectors are man enough for the job?

Cheers

Cheers BVT! That calculator suggests mine won't do... I need 320cc per min injectors.

Standard XE won't do 195bhp with throttle bodies more like 175-180bhp run your fuel pressure at 3.5bar and those injectors will be fine

Stan Weiss has put up injector flow tables here which are the most comprehensive I have found on the web. Here. They also suggest that your injectors are not up to the job. 360ml/min will give about 52bhp per injector and should be about right. He lists your injectors as good for 33.7 BHP each at 80% duty cycle for engine with a BFSC of .52

Depends how far into the duty cycle you want to go....they will be pretty much flat out with no headroom at all.

saab are rate a bit higher on the 2.3 versions...

peak and hold tho , so youll need resistors ..

When I made up my injection system I used Graham Bell’s calculations.
I also knocked up a system to check flow rates of the injectors at a given pressure.
Accepting that yours do what they recon they do and the HP figures are as silky suggests my calcs agree with his for what it is worth.

A bit off topic but I've had 2 'standard' XEs with Jenveys and both were over 200bhp; 205 and 209bhp respectively.
