Centre pinion steering rack

Apart from the Porsche 911, what are the options for a steering rack with a centre pinion?

That's right, but purpose built race car ones cost an arm and a leg!

I'm trying to make a simple to put together kit.

A lot of off-road buggy racks are centre steer...I used one on my project, but most are quite short and need extending to avoid bump steer.

Does it need to be center pinion? Russ Bost uses a cinq/seicento rack which is so short the offset makes little difference to the run of the column.

A late model Mini rack is easily modified, centre location was not necessary for my application. Hope the pic is helpful.
