Fireblade Engine

Want to change my 95 Blade engine as it's now getting near the end of it's life. Looking through the ad's for replacement and suddenly realised that similar engines are now some twenty years old. What work is involved in upgrading my MK Indy to accept the newer 1000cc, that said I the older engines are pretty reliable. Any suggestions welcome, ta!

New loom for starters when you got to injection, then sump upgrades etc.

Obviously the engine mounts as they are different on newer 929 etc....

Gear selector arm will need moving.

New exhaust could be £400

Fuel pump as well

Bonnet scoop may need moving depending on new engine location

New prop adaptor potentially although fireblade, r1 n zzr are same I'm told

New prop if engine won't fit in same area

You would hope that the new engine will sit in same place so save the bonnet, prop change.

Electrics will be a ball ache....

Buy another blade engine n rebuild yours when the other runs...

Far more than its worth unless your racing and every tenth counts

By the time you've bought the engine kit
Billet sump
Fuel pump and lines
Power commander and mapping
Exhaust manifold
Engine mounts

Etc etc

If your just a Sunday driver / trackdayer, I think the best option would be having your current motor refreshed by someone like AB Performance, Yorkshire Engines or my own choice was JEBS performance

my car/engine (919) is currently with Andy and i asked him the same question, apparently the average cost of him doing that conversion is about 8k

would need a fuel swirl pot, new loom, ECU +piggy back, remap, exhaust, possibly new engine mounts, possibly new prop and adaptor, billet sump, new clutch set up (cable to Hyd)... the list just went on

I opted for a full AB919 rebuild due to gearbox issue's and have also thrown in a billet sump, exhaust and force induction airbox for good measure...
