Copy DVD to Itunes....

Got the job of trying to copy some films onto my son's Ipad. Worked out I need to copy them to Itunes on his PC then sync Ipad, worked fine with the first I did using Aimersoft free trial software...but stuck with an annoying "watermark"...

Is there a free DVD convertor that will do the job??

Ta in advance.

If you are on a mac, follow this guide for how to do it using free software:

For the PC there is Handbrake. Think that's free.
Not sure how it deals with copy protection/region encoding.
If you're happy to pay then CloneDVD works well though you need to buy the separate software that removes the region encoding first.
I bought the mobile version to use on phones and tablets and have been pleased with it. It has only failed to handle a couple of discs.

Use handbrake and save it in the smallest format that plays well on whatever screen he has - no point in ripping it at max resolution as it will take up too much space (unless he needs to stream it to a TV).
