Water temp sensor

Hey all, I've got an ST170 engine in my car and want to put an additional water temp sensor in for a gauge. The blacktop thermo housing only has a hole for one - I'm looking for a tidy solution for an additional one, has anybody done anything neat and clever?!

Cheers

There are in line adaptors with threaded holes for the usual 1/8 npt or m12 senders

Example - UNIVERSAL 36MM WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR SENDER RADIATOR HOSE ADAPTOR COOLANT MOD

Or revotec do a threaded self sealing boss

Revotec Self Sealing Hose Take Offs - For Silicone / Rubber / Semi Rigid Hoses

My engine is from an early '99 mondeo, and has 2 temp sensors fitted, one on top, and one on the side.
I have the upper one connected to the ecu, and the lower one to the temp gauge.
The later focus engines had a single sensor with a cylinder head temp sensor as well.
The housing may have the reinforced spot for a second sensor, if so just drill and tap to fit another genuine sensor there.
If you have the 'O' ring and clip type of sensor mount, i don't think a second sensor is possible.

The st170 only had one as it communicated to both the ecu and the dash via can bus. I would just change to a black top stat housing. Very cheap from a scrapie.

Brilliant - how did I miss that! drilled out and now installed - thanks

I couldn't use the single ST one - I'm using an emerald ECU so needed one for the managment and one for the clocks
