Duratec Flywheel lock

Anyone got any good pictures of a simply, home made, tool for locking the flywheel on a duratec?

Tried my impact gun and the flywheel bolts won't budge so time to get the break-bar on it and errr brake something!

Not sure about the duratec specifically but in the past I've used a bit of thin metal with two holes successfully - one hole gets bolted to the flywheel, the other to the engine. You do have to be careful not to bend or damage anything though

If disfunction is a function, then I must be some kind of genius.

seen one somewhere, that uses the 2 bolt holes for the startermotor, and locks into 1 tooth of the flywheel

I'd love to give my imaginary friend a great big hug,

but this jacket makes it impossible.

I did the same as Davidmurray but held it on one tooth.

That may be close to genius but it doesn't use the awesome power of two hammers:

believe it or not this worked perfectly...

made one for myself today, had to lock the engine whilst in the car (needed bottom pulley undone)

the 2 holes pick up the starter motor blots and the box section engages on the ring gear
