Doesn't need lsd oil.
Just EP90 GL5 gear oil as the viscous lsd unit is sealed.

Can't honestly remember,1 litre springs to mind.

there's no drain plug though, you have to remove rear cover to drop oil.which is easier said than done if its never been off before!

Approx. 0.9l of EP90

As above the viscous bit is a sealed unit so it doesn't need any special oil or additives

We checked the Haynes manual and it mentioned that for our diff the oil level is a set distance lower than what we thought was a level plug (10mm lower springs to mind)

Is this an error?

Ours is a 3.62 LSD from an XR4X4 if that makes any difference.
