5pw R1 2002 wiring vs 2003

Hi,

Maybe someone can help me with this one. Fitting a R1 (5pw) engine from 2002.

I think I'm right in assuming there are two different looms for 2002 and 2003 model according to the Haynes manual.

2002 ( 9 wires):
2002
2002

2003 ( 6 wires):
2003
2003

But I cannot find this "2002" version in any Yamaha official service manual. All the 5pw service manuals I found online have the 2003 wiring diagram.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this other version??

Thanks for the help.

Just looks to me that the lighting switch is in a different location?

Well, the problem is setting up the main switch, because there are some extra connections there too.

Seems like there is some kind of lights coming on just from turning the key?!?

Don't the lights on some bikes come on with the ignition?

Pretty sure some bikes the 'position' lights come with the ignition.

As you say they don't on the earlier R1's.
