Goodwood - 24th Sept

Got down to a 88.39 sec run at Goodwood today, my fastest time there.

Russtick took some video from the start, this is what 0-100 in 7 secs looks like from the outside (1min 51secs)

They were knocking them out fast yesterday, when I competed a few weeks ago the beat rate seemed a lot slower.

It's amazing how much faster you have to be to grab those few seconds!

Yes, I did 90.03 in P1, 89.50 T1 & 88.39 T2. I'm hitting the revlimiter in 6th on Lavant straight now (153MPH) so will need to up the revlimit for next time. Learning new reference points for the A15 slicks and manning up would get the times in the 84-85 mark.

Looks good. How was the exhaust for noise? Any oil spill? Another 3-4sdcs quicker sounds a lot.

My poor old DB7 got to around 135mph on the Lavant straight, those nasty tyre walls start looming causing me to brake extremely early before turning right for Woodcote, scary stuff.

Here,s me falling off at Fordwater, apparently there is a slight camber change/hump that catches you out.

Next year I will break the 100 second barrier.

Exhaust was OK but the flat shift triggered the noise meters on two occasions. I did get oil being blown out until it dawned on me that this engine doesn't like anything over 1/2 way on the dipstick. There is a blow-by issue as it is lifting the dipstick off the o-ring but it is manageable.

There is loads of time to be made up under brakes and cornering on the slicks.

Fordwater is tricky, I'm doing 140MPH through there and you need to keep your foot in and turn in at the right point.

In car with dodgy sound and missing PIP. Need a new compact flash card I think.
