DIY arcade coin pusher

So my daughter says to me "daddy can you build me one of those 2p machines like we play at the arcades?"

No problem I say.
3 weekends later and a lot of google searching and measuring I have a working model.
Needs finishing off but the main working are done.
Both Megan and her friend managed to put their phones down for a couple of hours and play!
Happy days

Cheers, has been good fun researching and building the machine
Stands me at around £150 for materials So far including lights , mdf, Perspex, motor and pwm controller plus decorative items such as poker chips, dice etc.
I am wrapping the mdf in 3D carbon fibre vinyl, not done that before so will be interesting
I'll put a video and photos of the finished unit once completed

hahaha my missus would probably take a dim view of dismantling the washing machine to use the drum on a project!
good idea though.

Progress has been good today, just go to get the carbon vinyl wrap on, edging and lights

Excellent - very good effort!

IMHO something that gets kids away from phones (screens) is worth the time and effort.

Don't get sucked in to providing buckets of 2p coins for them to play with though

ETA...our 3 kids (11 =9 + 9) each have an Amazon Kindle. They have a limit of 30 mins at a time then it's turn off and do something else - even dare to play a game with your Dad! I've taught them chess and backgammon so far - the oldest can now beat me at chess and is not far off with backgammon either!
