Help with brake choices

Hi All

I am looking at sorting the brakes on my Fury build and I need a bit of help please, I've been trying to work out if the following brakes would be suitable for my build, but the maths is making my head swim.

Here is a list of braking components, is there any of you clever lot,that can let me know if there is a problem with the combinations I have chosen. I know they are not low cost but would rather spend the money and get a decent set up.

Front brake calipers

Wilwood Powerlite Kit with 265mm Solid Discs (BK1R)

Piston size 35mm 1.38 inch
Piston area 966.2mm sq 1.5 inch sq
Total area 3864.8mm sq 6 inch sq

Rear brake calipers

HiSpec SVA Ultralite Sierra 253mm Discs

Piston size 27mm 1.06 inch
Piston area 572.6mm sq 0.88 inch sq
Total area 1145.2mm sq 1.76 inch sq

Front brake master cylinder

Piston size 15.9mm 0.625 inch
Piston area 198.6mm sq 0.31 inch sq

Rear brake master cylinder

Piston size 17.5mm 0.6875 inch
Piston area 240.6mm sq 0.37 inch sq

Brake pedal

Pedal ratio 5:1

Just for info the front is Escort the rear is Sierra.

Please let me know your thoughts, any views welcome.

Might be just me... but looks like your thinking about it too much. Or at least in a too complex way. Just have a look at what is commonly used and work close to that.

Agree with loggyboy, it doesn't have to be that complex Wilwood Powerlite's with drilled grooved disc's up front and Sierra calipers and solid disc's on the rear would be perfect, work very well on my MK Indy Blade anyway.

Thanks guys

Your right, I was getting caught up with things like trying to work out line pressure and front to back ratios.

The Willwood kit is pretty tried and tested on kit cars, and I know people on here have used the HiSpec rear callipers, just wanted to make sure I got the right piston size. Am I right in thinking the smallest size (27mm) would be right for a lightweight kit car?
