dashboard switch illumination

Hi all, what is the IVA examiner looking for regarding dashboard switch illumination. I was intending using a momentary push button for the fog light with a fog light legend immediately above it. The button itself would be back lit when car lights are on but the fog light legend won’t be visible when it is dark, is this acceptable?

thanks

If it ain't broken, fix it anyway (just because).

Illumination is not required. But it needs to be clear.

6. Must be fitted with an operational “tell-tale” lamp (non-flashing) visible from the
driving position
7. Either the switch or tell tale must clearly indicate that operation relates to the Rear Fog lights (see Note 1).

Note 1: This may be achieved by an unlit pictogram (see section 33) or appropriate words, the tell tale may be any colour provided it cannot be confused with any other tell tale.

Section 33:

Identification of certain controls, tell tales and indicators is
mandatory and is covered in other relevant sections. This section
only applies to optional identification where provided.

1. Must be clear so not to cause confusion.
2. Must be on or as close to the controls, tell-tales and indicators as
possible as not to cause confusion.
3. Must stand out clearly from the background.

So I read that as if you have small black switch on a black dash that wouldnt comply.
It also still needs an illuminated telltale
