IVA failed

Minor fail on my GBS, few points picked up.

Fuel pipes insecure, over rear diff, couple of brackets made now.
Rear brake line could hit the driveshaft, added a p clip.
Light switch edge radius didn't conform, new one printed
Headlights don't meet the 45 degree visibility, printed a spacer.
Indicators only 320mm not the 350mm needed.
Dash bottom radius does not conform, was bought from kit car direct so a bit annoyed at that one, need a solution before I can book the retest.

Good fail with some fairly easy fixes.
What dash panel was it?

How far off the radius was the dash panel? I had a similar one and covered it with this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/153335163393?chn=ps

then a layer of vinyl over the top, the added thickness gave me the radius - it can all fall off after the IVA naturally!

Dash just needs some edging trim?

TBF it doesn't state its IVA compliant in the advert,so really its down to you for not checking before the test.

The guys at kitcardirect have been pretty decent, it did say IVA compliant when I bought it and they have said they will help sort out a solution for me.

Now a pass

Passed the IVA this morning, the guys were very reasonable at Southampton and mostly happy with the mods I did to get it through, although had to cut down the light switch.

Now have to fill out the registration forms, can they be submitted online to the DVLA or only via post?

Hi there

Just going through the same process.....post only as some of the documents need to be originals

Remember to visit: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/kitbuilt-vehicles as I did not include a V627/1....error on my part as I just looked at the guidance for new vehicles as I had a certificate of newness.

Cheers

Ian

make copies before you send them, they don't return them all.

Second that - other road users seem to be oblivious to low profile, rapid motors - almost as a bad as riding a bike!
Enjoy - weather's looking good...
