Locost Track Day

Wednesday 7th November

To include ARDS instructor & marshals - unless you guys can bring some down,
they have to be paid- Ambulance, track cost, my public liability insurance
(you can imagine it is hideous), and a few bob towards costs (phone calls,
running about etc), the provisional price per car is £75. (I am being
charged full price for yhe circuit - if I succeed in getting a better deal I
will pass it)

Details: track 1.3m long. Probably open pit lane, max 8 cars at a time, or
sessions if people hog the track. Max 30 cars. Extra drivers £15.00 per
head. Instructino available to first timers, and maybe some set-up help for
first time Locosts.

Cost £75 if we manage to get 30 entrants, £110 if only 20. Helmets
mandatory, and suits in open cars. On track at 10, finish at 5 (dark?),
lunch 1-2 in on site cafe (excellent). Payment upfront by cheque to fastrack
racing.com, returnable in full if we cannot get enough people (no handling
charge). Remember we need to throw it open to others by the 20th at the
latest, and cancel by the 30th if it does not look good.

It's Kemble airfield in Gloucester.

That looked like really good value for money. It's a pity we're a few months too late

thinking about it. I'm quite disapointed now. I thought there was going to be a tackday. Would it be that cheap to arrange a club track day rather than pay £100+ for an open track day?

did you both see the trackday organised at teeside autodrome? This was/is only £70 per head including an instructor present all day! Maybe a bit far for you smart51, but certainly cheap!

did ya miss it?

Shame really, i have a friend who might want to come. Mike says there are some places booked for MAC1, so it might be possible to rearrange spaces.

Don't know if there are any spaces left at the moment, as I was away last week. Best to email the organiser direct. Mike K at oioi@dsl.pipex.com

We could eaisly book the track for locost owners if we get enough interest. I did a freebie test day there this week and the circuit is brilliant. It is well suited to se7en type cars with a good straight and plenty of twisty bits. Oh and the long right hander at the end of the straight is a banked corner for full oval racer effect. Any takers and I'm in!!!

Quoet from teeside website:::
Track Hire full circuit:

Mon - Tues: £750 9AM - 5PM 1HR Lunch - £100 per extra hour
Wed - Fri: £1000 9AM - 5PM 1HR Lunch - £250 per extra hour
Sat - Sun: £4000 9AM - 5PM 1HR Lunch - £400 per extra hour
Sat evening: - £400 7pm - 10.30pm
Bank Holidays: £2000 9AM - 5PM

For individual events, MINI DREAM etc please click here

Max 12 cars/14 bikes/60 karts on circuit at any one time, paddock suitable for up to 60 vehicles.

These prices include 3 marshall's and 1 duty manager.

£750 divided by 12 cars = £62.50 and you can drive all day.
£750 divided by 60 cars = £12.50 and give 5 groups of 12 cars with 1 hour 20 minutes each.
I guess that 24 cars would be optimum with a £31.25 cost and driving half of the day.

Shame its in teeside. I know the journey well from trips to Sunderland, I wouldn't want to do it in a seven and then spend the day on a track and then drive home.

I would definatly be a taker for this kind of day in the midlands.

What about Llandow near Cardiff? 2 and a bit hours from Birmingham, just off the M4 for anyone coming from the South - oh and cheap!

prices not quite right for the teesside one, there is mandatory insurance for circa £3-400, plus vat on everything. cost is closer to 1500. Still bloody good, but not quite 750!

IMHO, you want a trailer for a trackday incase you bend your car - these no point being stuck hundreds of miles from home! I wouldnt even drive there in a CEC from leeds, nevermind a BEC from brum!

next to the cost of a trailer and tow car, the cost of a track day is nothing. Its a risk but its not one I'll be taking too often.
