Bah dam the the council for resurfacing the roads up my way and leaving those raised manholes only went and whacked me sump on one and dinked a hole in the sump

bad luck mate....get in touch with them and give them the bill....

From what I hear it's not that hard to get them to pay out. Might have been mentioned in a thread on here recently. Worth a look.

take some pix of the cover with a ruler showing the height and send them a bill for a new custom made sump,including oil/loss of use/labour/gaskets/pizza/tea etc

Don't forget postage.

Tell them it's a dry sump as well

Humbug, i went back with a rule and the thing was about 70mm high, so with the camber of the road falling away aswell, i see why i hit the thing. heads are gonna roll
